Hey Friend,

Kustom Kreationz by Kila is rooted in a pretty simple belief: the things inside your home should mean something to you.

I’ve never believed home has to be perfectly styled to be beautiful. I care more about whether it feels lived in. Whether you can see your personality in it. Your culture. Your faith. Your memories. Your people.

That’s what I’m thinking about when I make these switch covers.

Light switch plates are easy to overlook. Most of us have walked past the same plain ones for years without giving them a second thought. But I’ve always loved the idea that even something that small can have personality. It can carry color. Texture. History. A little humor. A little sparkle. A whole lot of soul.

Some KKBK pieces celebrate cultural heritage. Some are bold and unapologetic. Some are botanical, peaceful, playful, glamorous, or completely unexpected. They are not all supposed to look the same because neither are the homes they are going into.

What connects them is intention.

Every piece is made by hand because I still believe there is something special about knowing a real person cared about the details. I choose the materials. I work through the placement. I finish the piece. I notice when something feels off. And I keep working until it feels right.

I’m proud that KKBK is a Black woman-owned business. Culture is part of this brand because it is part of me—but I never want it reduced to a marketing phrase. It shows up naturally in the colors, patterns, stories, influences, and perspective behind the work.

Faith is part of that foundation too.

I believe home is more than somewhere we decorate. It is where we raise people, recover, gather, pray, laugh, argue, forgive, celebrate, grieve, and begin again. The details matter because the life happening around them matters.

And no, a switch cover is not going to transform your entire life.

But sometimes one small detail is enough to make you stop and think, “Now that feels like me.”

That is what I want KKBK to give you.

Not a home that looks like everybody else’s.
Not more stuff just for the sake of having more stuff.
Just thoughtful pieces that help your home feel a little more personal, a little more intentional, and a whole lot more like the people who live there.

Your walls already speak. Let’s make sure they have something worth saying.

With love,
Kila
